On Monday, October 4th, Alice Merton will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the first time since her last appearance in 2019. The show begins at 11:35 PM EST (10:35 PM CST) on Monday evening. In conjunction with this major milestone, Alice’s single “Vertigo” just hit Top 10 on the AAA (Adult Alternative Airplay) Chart, in addition to Top 10 on the Alt Rock Radio Song Chart.
In other news, Alice recently returned with a two-track single entitled “Hero/Island,” in addition to a music video for Side-A, “Hero,” released via Mom + Pop Music. Stream it HERE.
“Everything I felt in the last year was summed up in the first two sentences of the song,” Alice said of “Hero.” “It’s about the conflict of wanting something so bad, but realizing you just don’t have the strength to fight for it anymore. It talks about the discrepancy of wanting to be someone’s everything, and at the same time wishing they meant nothing to you.”
She continued, “Island’ acknowledges the struggle and desire to survive together, while ‘Hero’ calls a ceasefire and waves a flag to announce its surrender.”
The “Hero” music video was directed by Anuk Rohde, who previously worked with Merton on the video for her stand-out single, “Vertigo.” Alice will also be performing the track live on television at Goldene Henne, Germany‘s biggest audience award ceremony gala, on September 17th.
Alice Merton has over 616MM+ total global streams, with her breakthrough debut single “No Roots” having nearly 1MM+ creations on TikTok.
