How do you usually write the lyrics of your songs?
Usually when writing the melody a few lines come to mind, it depends on the mood your in but it’s basically improvising your thoughts into the melody at first. After we figure out the arrangement of the song, we’ll go back to the lyrics and figure out what kind of story we want to tell.
In your opinion, what is the most important thing in songwriting?
Songwriting is about communicating your thoughts and feelings, so it’s important to be authentic and write about your true point of view and experience.
Are you ever scared of revealing aspects of your personal life/experience to strangers through your music?
Not too much, if you’re looking to go public with your songs then you pretty much have to embrace that it’s going to happen. Think of it as bonding but with a lot of people at the same time. 😉
What is the best lyric that you ever wrote (the most meaningful for you)?
“Why do I always feed the enemy inside my head nothing satisfies the hunger…” It’s from one of our new songs we’re about to record.
What inspired “Natural Downer” part of your latest album/EP “black hole syndrome?
“Natural Downer” is about not letting your own negativity influence you.
You can always find reasons why not to do something, that’s easy, that’s what a person with a “Natural Downer” disorder does. sometimes that person is you or someone in the audience after a show, you just have to keep going and not let distractions like this set you back.
Is there a link/a common theme among the songs of the new album?
A common theme among the lyrics of the songs is the constant battle of a man with himself.
Each song is like a different act in that battle, it goes from anger to denial to confusion and eventually accepting some sort of truth.
