“Throw your problems in the air” sing Bleeker on their new video for ‘Problems’ . Taken from the forthcoming album ‘Self-Made’, ‘Problems’ was released as scheduled on March 20th 2020 just as people were being sent home and the world went into 3 months of lockdown. The escapist feel of the track became a favorite with self-isolating fans dealing with the problems of feeling trapped at home. Then as self-isolation turned into social distancing, posted video clips on social media with over 1 million views for TikTok videos featuring the song, and half a million streams. Listen HERE.
BLEEKER’s summer tour with Better Noise Music labelmates, AWOLNATION, Andrew McMahon In The WildernessandThe Beaches, was cancelled due to Covid-19, so Bleeker decided to make a video for the track as ‘Problems’ gained popularity. With the restrictions of social distancing, the band came up with a creative solution, which gives a fun and unique insight into the lives of brothers Taylor and Cole Perkins, Mike Van Dyk and Chris Dimas in their homes in Ontario, Canada. All footage was shot entirely by the band and shows some of the problems encountered in daily life mixed with their unique sense of relatable lockdown humor.
Taylor Perkins:“The ‘Problems’ video was so fun to make. We got to make a video about how life at home can be frustratingly funny and problematic. It’s all about the little things that remind us that nothing is easy. We hope it brings everyone a little laugh and some levity to the current climate”.
The band’s first album on Better Noise Music, “ERASE YOU” garnered a Juno Award nomination for “Breakthrough Group Of The Year,” as well as a breakthrough single, “Highway,” that went to #1 on radio in Canada and Top 10 stateside and was Top 10 in France. The band were featured heavily on European Radio and performed on FRANCE 24 TV, and music show Sur La Scène de Quotidien on their last promo trip to Europe.
