How do you usually write the lyrics of your songs?
A lot of times we’ll create an eight bar loop and improve on top of it with a feeling in mind. Lyrics tend to come out that way. Sometimes we also use the cut out technique if we get stuck or if we are looking for some inspirations. It’s fun to see where words take us.
In your opinion, what is the most important thing in songwriting?
In our opinion having emotion is one of the most important things, but art has no bounds or limits, so express yourself!
Are you ever scared of revealing aspects of your personal life/experience to strangers through your music?
Not scared necessarily but vulnerable for sure!
What is the best lyric that you ever wrote (the most meaningful for you)?
I’d have to say currently the most meaningful has been the lyrics from “Come Away.” The song was inspired by our love and released on our wedding day. Even though the lyrics are simple and sweet, it’ll always be our wedding song.
What inspired “Come Away,” your latest single?
As we mentioned above, “Come Away” was released on our wedding day and was vey much inspired by our engagement. The song is also about being there for each other, keeping the candle lit in the times of darkness. We all have seasons of darkness and this song is about sticking it out till the storm passes.
Do you remember the day you wrote “Hand of Queens”?
That song was written over a few years. It began as a folk song and turned into more of a synth pop tune.
Are you working on the release of a new EP/album?
We are! Working on a full-length album but in the mean time we are releasing 2 more singles along with a music video directed by Diego Lozano.
What is the best suggestion your producer gave you?
We produce our own music but some good advice we’ve been told by other great producers is to take a break every 4 hours and sometimes less is more.
What are your plans for the upcoming months?
We’ve got 1 single coming out “No Stranger to Love,” followed by another single and music video that we are super excited to share! It truly was an experience to create it.
