Writing lyrics to Amberian Dawn is all about the music and the stories comes out by the listening to every song with my eyes closed, time after time, without thinking about the lyrics or themes.
Of course, I might have some ideas of what I want to write or work with but in the end it is always the music.
I picture the songs like movie soundtracks and write what I see.
What is the best verse you ever wrote?
For me there is no best verse or chorus. There is only a story. Some of them are true some are fiction.
For example I like Darkness of Eternity because when I heard the music the lyrics came right away, like I heard them at once.
And the one of your favorite song (not written by you)?
One of my favourite songs (there are so many) is Hello by Evanescence.
I remember where I was when I heard it first time because it made me cry (in a good way): Don’t try to fix me I’m not broken…
Can you tell us more about the song “I’m The one”?
I remember I was in a bad mood when I wrote it. 😀
The only line in my head was I’m the one please pick me and panic panic manic manic and I didn’t know what for.
So I decided to write something that I don’t like -people who can brainwash others to do everything they want without thinking about how it might hurt them.
What inspired “Maybe”?
Maybe. Well… it’s about bad relationship where two people are together even though they know it’s bad for them. Nothing more…
Your new album “Darkness of Eternity” has just been released, is there a link between all the songs, lyrically speaking?
In this album there is not a link between songs but I am writing a story in songs Symphony part I – Symphony part II – (Symphony part III) – Magic Forest – (Symphony part IV – and maybe even Symphony part V) but we will see…
Do you remember the day you wrote “Abyss”?
I wrote Abyss in the same day I wrote Maybe so I think there might be a connection even though I didn’t mean to.
What music means to you?
Music is everything to me. I love to listen movie soundtracks where are no lyrics so I can picture them as my mind wants to and I like to listen music that I don’t know beforehand. But the time I love the silence is in the mornings.
What makes you happy in life? And upset?
Happiness in my life is the ability to live in the moment. I don’t worry about the future or the past, I am happy.
My family makes me happy, music, my dog, my home. I am a happy person. 😀
What makes me upset are selfish, narcissistic people who seek their own advantage.
