Today, LA-based band DRÆMINGS share their new single, “Siamese Flame” via PLAG Records. Stream it on all DSPs now (FanLink here). This is the first of the string of singles that will be released over the next few months, while the band writes and records their new EP, which is anticipated to be released in 2019, with select tour dates attached. The band will be performing at Long Beach’s Happy Sundays festival on August 26th, and DJing School Night, LA’s live music series every Monday evening at Bardot, on August 13th. Keep an eye out for more live dates, soon to be announced.

‘Siamese Flame’ is about meeting your loved ones again and again, and the flames that we carry for each other, only to find each other’s light again and again in the darkness of every lifetime,” states Kimi Recor, who started DRÆMINGS as a solo project in 2012, having played with various bands throughout her music career. Quickly landing a label deal after putting out her first ever collection of solo tracks on Soundcloud, she released a slew of singles and a full-length LP in 2016, selling out The Echo and touring the West Coast.

Recor’s vision for the future of DRÆMINGS evolved during the two years it took to release her debut full-length solo LP. She yearned for control, collaboration, and ultimately, the ability to perform and put out music on her own terms. Going back to her roots – playing and writing with other artists – and co-starting her own independent label, PLAG Records, Recor channeled her gritty and industrious mind, putting out the band’s “Loveless” single and their S/T EP on her own label, and playing a residency at The Echo in 2017, just after parting ways with her label. Akin to the band’s 2017 S/T EP and 2018 single “Stay Up All Night,” “Siamese Flame,” was written and recorded by the four piece outfit, consisting of Recor (vocals/guitar), Christopher Vick (guitar), Thorson (bass/synth) and Nathaniel Meek (drums), the creative and musical minds she elicited to be the new DRÆMINGS lineup. The run of singles that will roll out through the rest of 2018, and the 2019 EP will also follow suit, solidifying the band as a collective identity once again.
