We are elated with the success of our EP and the response that it has garnered.
The new double EP will be composed of two new Greta Van Fleet songs, and two cover songs that demonstrate our roots and influences.
Is there a “link” between the lyrics of all the songs?
A theme of humanity.
What inspired “Highway tune”?
Highway Tune is our ode to the rock ‘n roll scene.
It was one of the first songs we ever wrote, and came out of blues, folk and many other influences.
do you remember the day you wrote “safari song”?
It was around 5 years ago, and we have no recollection of where it came from. It was an idea that we had one day and has kind of evolved naturally ever since.
what is the best verse you ever wrote?
That best verse I have ever wrote is yet to be written! One of my favorites is “I’ve got love in my heart for an army apart” from one of the new songs on From the Fires, “Edge of Darkness”.
and the one of your favorite song?
Josh – so long Marianne by Leonard Cohen
Jake – Through the Morning through the night by Dillard and Clark
Sam – almost cut my hair by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Danny – All along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan
how do you usually write the lyrics of your songs?
All of the songs are written differently with different intentions. Generally, it depends on what the song demands.
tell us more about “flower power”?
Flower power is an ode to the haight-ashbury music movement.
how your European tour is going? Which was the best show so far?
We can’t wait to play our first show in France for you all!
