Nashville-based Singer/Songwriter Joy Oladokun has just released her smooth new single “Blame,” a track that balances an infectious hook with the sound of Sunday morning tranquility. PRESS HERE to listen. The track, which finds Joy leaning into her self-proclaimed genre of “Rock-n-Soul,” perfectly showcases the talent that has made the Arizona-born musician one of the most exciting young artists to watch.
After gaining viral traction from her song “No Turning Back,” Joy Oladokun’s incredible voice was no longer a secret. Since then, Joy has performed at notable festivals including Threshold Festival & SoulFest in Liverpool and shared the stage with artists such as Julien Baker, Gabe Dixon, Penny & Sparrow and more. When Joy writes and sings, you hear the voice of someone who has lived the song and is willing to re-live it again and again every time she performs it. “Sober,”Joy’s first single from her upcoming project, was written about sobering up emotionally and physically after wasting too much time on the wrong person. While other artists will continue to follow the same path, Joy will create her own path by marching to the beat of her own drum and pave the way for the next generation of music.
Joy is currently preparing to kick off a series of shows-indcluding an East Coast tour with Jillian Jacqueline this May, as well as a performance at Nashville Pride at the end of June.
