How do you usually write the lyrics of your songs?
The lyrics of the songs are born from the sensations of the moment, from a lived experience or from something that may have positively or negatively influenced my life, they are all very personal feelings.
In your opinion, what is the most important thing in songwriting?
Transmit what you feel at that precise moment, photograph it with words, express your emotions in those 3 – 4 minutes so that they will not be forgotten. Launch a message to who will listen to your songs.
Are you ever scared of revealing aspects of your personal life/experience to strangers through your music?
I would say no, all the songs of “Life” are very personal, they are the exact description of the moods that have accompanied us during the life before the release of the album, sad experiences, moods, depression, anger , all aspects of life lived.
I believe there is nothing wrong with expressing oneself in the form of art that represents us.
What is the best lyric that you ever wrote (the most meaningful for you)?
The most significant song is the title track because it speaks of the last days of my father’s life spent in the hospital sleeping at his side with his head resting on the table. It ‘s what passed through my mind in those days, no longer able to talk to him, see life slowly turn off and understand at that time that you still needed him.
What inspired “I Don’t Care”, part of your latest album LIFE?
The meaning of the song is that one must always be oneself, not caring about the opinions of others, being true, never being conditioned by what people think, because even in madness or sadness you find the truth and in the end who can judge you for the choices you make or how you live if not you?
And “Hammer”?
Hammer is about a period of depression, where everything seemed absurd. Depression is like a hammer in your head, it wears you down, makes you see things differently from reality, you just want to sleep and spend your life isolated from the rest of the world, it takes everything and leaves you emptied.
Why have you decided to do a cover of “Poker Face” of Lady Gaga?
Because it is a beautiful pop song of a great artist that fits very well to rock / metal. We often think of music in terms of “gender”, but it is misleading, after all it is an attitude that we adopt even in life, we are too used to giving labels and classifying everything
What was the best moment of your career? And the most difficult one?
The best was to collaborate during the recording of the album “Life” with Marco Barusso, see how the songs together with him had an evolution, is a perfectionist, we learned a lot about how to work on the songs, how to arrange a piece.
The most difficult was to collaborate with Marco Barusso because he is very demanding and rightly wanted the best from each of us, before the recordings he sent us to class, because we thought we were cool and this made us come back down to earth and it helped us a lot to improve as artists, let’s say it was a lesson in life! You never stop learning.
What are your plans for 2018?
Now give us a well deserved vacation, because it is from 16/12/2016 that we do not stop to play live, after which we close in the studio to start writing material for the new album that could come out for 2019, the idea is to make a “concept” album with the change of our life at the center with the advent of social networks taking as a starting point the 1984 book by Orwell.
