Los Angeles, CA – Indie-Rock band Looming will release their sophomore album, Seed, on September 29th via No Sleep Records. Today, the band has revealed the record’s next new single, “Queen,” which can be streamed exclusively at NewNoiseMagazine.com. The record is currently available for pre-order now at nosleeprecords.lnk.to/seed.
“”Queen” is a powerful song for me,” says vocalist Jessica Knight. “It’s pretty straight forward lyrically but it takes you through the sort of agony that you experience when trying to achieve positive change in your life. Musically it is one of our favorites to play because it was one of the first songs we finished writing and we are excited to finally share it.”
Since the release of their debut LP, Nailbiter, in 2015, Looming has entered a new chapter after originating members Brandon Carnes moved to Pittsburgh, PA and Jessica Knight moved to Austin, TX. The distance has not slowed them down as the band is set to release their second LP on No Sleep Records.
Recorded by Carnes in Braddock, PA and mixed by Jay Robbins (Lemuria, Mock Orange, Jets to Brazil), the band’s sophomore record lyrically explores regret, longing and growth over a vast, layered and lush musical background. The band has grown, expanded musically, and remained true to the signatures that define Looming.
“Each release we put out pretty honestly shows the transition we have gone through as we learn about ourselves and our sound and our potential,” Knight adds. “With that being said Seed is something we are very very proud of. We played around with a lot of new ideas for this one and hope that it shows while maintaining our identity we presented on Nailbiter.”
Fans can catch Knight on her solo tour of the U.S. over the next few weeks. Dates are listed below. Additioanlly, Looming has announced their official hometown, album release show will take place on October 2nd at The Black Sheep in Springfield, IL. Flyer is found below.
