Mahou Cinco Estrellas and Mad Cool Festival join forces again this year to offer the best new music through Mad Cool Talent 2018, a contest for national and international emerging talent that will give 9 acts the opportunity to get on stage at the festival.
Mad Cool Talent, which this year celebrates its 3rd edition, is an initiative organised with the aim of promoting new music and emerging talent.
The registration process for emerging acts of any genre is now open on the contest’s site (www.madcooltalent.com).
This is a great opportunity for new acts to share the stage with established headliners.
In the contest’s first round, a jury formed by a panel of music industry professionals will choose 50 bands that will move on to the next phase, of which fifteen acts will be shortlisted by popular vote to perform in the final.
The jury panel is formed by Ángel Alonso (Warner Music Spain), Daniel Lopez (Mondo Sonoro), Dani Marin (Costello Club), Fernando Navarro (El Pais), Inma Grass (Altafonte), Javier Arnaiz (Mad Cool Festival), Javier Dean (Warner/ Chapell), Keina Garcia (Artica), Leire Alcalde (Sony /ATV), Nuria Rico (Live Nation), Paz Vila (Sony Music España), Paloma Sánchez (Sol Música), Sara Quintela (Subterfuge Records) and Victor Portugal (Cultura Rock)
Last year’s contest was a big success, with over 1,000 acts from 27 countries. Signing up for the 2018 edition is very easy. Here’s how you can do it:
1.Visit www.madcooltalent.com and register your act between April 3rd to April 17th.
2. Share a post on Instagram or Twitter mentioning Mad Cool Festival with the hashtag #MahouCoolTalent to confirm your registration.
3. From April 17 to April 23rd, a professional jury panel will choose 50 acts that will make it to the next round.
4. From April 24th to May 3rd, the popular vote by the audience can choose their favourite acts on www.madcooltalent.com
5. The 15 most-voted acts will make it to the final. Their future will be decided on three shows that will take place on three different venues in Madrid (May 7-9th).
6. On the following day (May 10th), the most voted nine acts will be announced as the Mad Cool Talent winners to perform at MadCool 2018!
