Revered Orange County independent record label No Sleep Records has announced today, they’ve signed Minneapolis based emo-rock band Unturned. The band joins a diverse roster of bands that includes rising acts like Hot Mulligan, Great Grief, Slow Bloom and Charmer among others.
“We’re beyond excited to announce our signing to one of the labels we’ve looked up to for so long. Unturned and No Sleep plan to do lots of exciting things in this new chapter and we couldn’t be happier with the partnership. Stoked to jam.” – Parker Toyne
Unturned has been recognized as a powerhouse in Minneapolis alternative music. Their most recent release, “Pituitary,” has only further cemented their name within the Midwest music scene. The band takes staple elements of contemporary pop-punk and emo, whilst also leaving listeners feeling nostalgic of old-school bands from the 90’s and early 2000’s. Using punchy riffs, fast precise drums, and a pounding bass all combined with a smooth swelling ambience, complementing soaring vocals, Unturned creates a juxtaposition of sounds.
No Sleep Records will be releasing Unturned’s first EP in 2019. Additional details to come soon. Stream the band’s first single, “Vertigo,” from the record at Spotify.
