The uptempo track features quick scene changes, abrasive electric guitars, a horn section, and Hammond B3 Organ. Recorded as a collaboration by Tyler at his home studio, Producer / Engineer Christopher Hawthorne‘s (Matthew Mercury / Francesca Blanchard) VT based Studio 150, and Producer / Engineer Matt Weber (A Great Big Pile of Leaves) at the Gradwell House in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, “Fallen Idol” is a song about the abuse of power.
“I’ve observed a lot relationships torn apart from lack of listening and understanding each other. ‘Fallen Idol’ is about the loss of someone or something you previously held in high regard. It addresses the destruction that can come from viewing unfamiliar situations through a narrow lens, and the cocktail of misunderstandings doing so can create.” – Tyler John
