In the absence of the complementary programme and surprises that may be added over the next few months, the festival signs the renewed commitment to its 20th anniversary with around fifty names that will go down in the history of the festival as part of the #bestfestivalforever, the expanded version of the lineup that could not be in 2020. The festival that we owe ourselves. Among the 54 artists announced today, most of them names who were already in this year’s lineup, we welcome new additions like the acclaimed American trio Khruangbin in what will be their first performance at the Barcelona festival, the punk rapper slowthai , the Argentinian idols Él Mató a un Policía Motorizado,, the experimental disruptor Evian Christ, the overflowing vocal talent of the Catalan singer Marina Herlop, the powerful Irish post-punk quintet The Murder Capital and the veteran producer of minimal techno Terrence Dixon. Names that will be part of this collective celebration along with those who renew their presence at the festival today, like the untiring pioneer Kim Gordon, the Brazilian legend Arthur Verocai, the funk by the Malians Les Amazones d’Afrique, the return of Kurt Vile for a solo performance, the Australians Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever presenting their new album bursting with fresh ding-a-ling, the transoceanic pop anthems of Las Ligas Menores and of course the local and at the same time global proposals by Die Katapult, Hickeys, Biscuit and Za! & La TransMegaCobla.
Also, Blond: ish, Chaos in the CBD, Joyhauser, Anika Kunst, Héctor Oaks and William Djoko put the finishing touches to the lineup for the Brunch -On The Beach party that will take place on Sunday June 6th on the beach of Sant Adrià de Besòs with an identical lineup to the one that was going to be held this year. The electronic music programme of the festival is also underpinned by the live show by Aurora Halal, the b2b between Call Super and Shanti Celeste, and the beats for all tastes from Blawan, Buttechno, D. Tiffany, Lory D, Martha and Jane Fitz.
With a rate of sales that has exceeded all expectations, with just under a year to go, it can already be said that Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 will be the biggest edition in the history of the festival. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the meeting, and thanks to a lineup that encapsulates the unique essence of these two decades of life, the #bestfestivalforever will be an unforgettable edition that will combine the celebrations worthy of any anniversary along with the desire to experience a music festival of music after a void season. A festival, which needless to say, will be more Primavera Sound than ever.
Once again, the team wants to reiterate its enormous thanks to all the people who have shown their support for the festival despite the global context, both to the thousands of fans who have decided to keep their ticket to experience the #bestfestivalforever in 2021 and to all those who have joined us over the last few days and to everyone who has made it possible for us to already be talking about the next edition. There is almost a year to go before the gates of the Parc del Fòrum open on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, but the festival’s commitment to announcing the (almost) full lineup so far in advance aims to inject optimism into the public and more especially into the entire sector. It will be a long journey, but it has already begun.
INFORMATION ABOUT TICKET SALES
The full festival tickets for Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 are on sale through DICE at the price of € 165 * until Wednesday June 10th. From Thursday June 11th, the price of the full festival tickets will be € 195 *. Tickets in installments are also for sale on Festicket.
VIP full festival tickets are sold out. We remind you that on DICE there is a waiting list option for tickets of this type.
Day tickets for the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 will go on sale next Thursday, June 11th at 11:00 am. In the case of tickets for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, their price will be € 85 (+booking fee) and they will go on sale on DICE. Sunday tickets for the Brunch -On The Beach party will be € 45 (+booking fee) and will go on sale on DICE and Resident Advisor.
Holders of a day ticket for Primavera Sound Barcelona 2020 may change the day of their ticket if they want to. DICE and Festicket will contact buyers to detail the procedure for the change, which can be requested starting on Tuesday. If no change is requested, the ticket will automatically become a ticket for the same day in the 2021 edition.
