How do you usually write the lyrics of your songs?
They usually start as snippets of ideas in my Notes app then I flesh them out more when I have a chance. Or sometimes they just come out all at once in a session.
In your opinion, what is the most important thing in songwriting?
Telling the truth.
Are you ever scared of revealing aspects of your personal life/experience to strangers through your music?
No, not really. My music is really personal so I stopped worrying about that a long time ago.
What is the best lyric that you ever wrote (the most meaningful for you)?

I like the chorus lyrics in “Someone I’m Missing”

There are these rainbows in my kitchen
I know they’ve been sent by someone I’m missing
‘Cause they tend to show up just when I need them
To break my suspicions and fill them with wisdom

What inspired “Roses”?

Seasonal affective disorder and dreaming about the spring.
And “Lose the Light?
Working too much at my day job.
Do you remember the day you wrote “Sleepless Nights”?
That song took sort of a process to write so it happened over multiple days. It started as basically a whole different song if I remember correctly.
Is there a link/a common theme among the songs of the new album?
It’s mostly about growing up and the pains that come along with that and anxiety.
What is the best suggestion your producer gave you?
Using banjo on some of the songs which is not something I would have thought to do.
What are your plans for the upcoming months?
Playing shows in NYC, working on the next album, and we’re hoping to do some touring outside of NYC as well.
