RYL: “Someone Left Behind” has just been released; it is your debut album!! What it does mean for you?
Hot Sunday Blood: It means a lot, we work hard to make this work, It’s our declaration of intents, and we hope you enjoy to hear the songs as well as we enjoy to play them.
RYL: Tell us everything about the song “Blood Party”…
Hot Sunday Blood: “Blood Party” speaks about a man who stops in the middle of a party. Annoying people and boring conversations make him a potential murderer and during the night he consumes his vengeance.
Musically speaking is influenced by bands like Silverchair and Alice In Chains.
RYL: Is there a common meaning/theme between all your songs?
Hot Sunday Blood: There are not a common theme between the songs, but many of them are focused on brain reaction, and passing time.
RYL: When you first started to make music?
Hot Sunday Blood: We started years ago, every member has different music experience in other bands from different genres like stoner, black metal, and alternative rock, we knew each other from a while and then we decided to make up Hot Sunday Blood, maybe this sound comes out from our other experiences.
RYL: how do you, usually, write the lyrics and music of your songs?
Hot Sunday Blood: It’s a team work, we write the music, then I (Andrea Amerini) write the lyrics. After the work in the rehearsal studio, we arrange the music in the recording studio with the producer.
RYL: Do you remember the day you wrote “Running on my Own”?
Hot Sunday Blood: Yes. It was late at night, and we wanted to do a song with a fast rhythm to flush out the tiredness, and Marco Piozzi start with this riff, and we started to play on it.
It became “Running on my Own”. We love plays this song in our gigs, it is very enjoyable for us dump out the adrenaline with this song.
RYL: Which is the most important thing for you while doing music?
Hot Sunday Blood: be in the same emotional wavelength, and feeling good.
RYL: Which is the best verse you ever wrote?
Hot Sunday Blood: I have a good relationship with my verses, but if I have to choose one, “I’m a ghost, I’m a man I’m in you… sitting on the edge of the world , you are coming wonderful.. wonderful” a verse of “Brain Cage”.
I’m very bound to this verse, because it’s a whirlwind of feelings I felt in a period of my life. Words that I could not tell but I could wrote.
RYL: Which is the last song you wrote (not published yet)?
Hot Sunday Blood: “Rich and Fallen” a new song for the next album. It sounds very heavy.
RYL: which is the meaning behind “Brain Cage”?
Hot Sunday Blood: “Brain Cage” is the human reaction about loss.
The uncontrolled outburst of the mind due to a sudden return to the reality. A man struggles with his own demons which drive him to rise up and then destroy who caused his discomfort.
Talks about the inside fight of a man against himself, a men completely undressed of his defenses, and naked in front of a burning moral defeat.
RYL: Any project of being on tour this summer?
Hot Sunday Blood: Well, we are planning our calendar for the summer and winter.
