The Quad City DJ‘s are dropping the 25th anniversary edition of the original Space Jam theme song as an NFT on Foundation.app. You can find the mashable vocal stems, the track, and an RL Grime stem all on Foundation.
Since the release of the original Space Jam, the Quad City DJ’s theme song has spurred a massive cult following and veritable mashup subculture. With nearly 200,000 “slams”/mashups, the Space Jam theme has seen mashups with Skrillex, RL Grime, Cher, Carly Rae Jepsen, Mulan, and Backstreet Boys to highlight a few. Ever culturally relevant, the Quad City DJ’s are ready to unveil their NFT of the theme song, a modern response to the continually growing phenomenon.
Now, with the introduction of the NFTs, the Quad City DJs are also offering the vocal stems for fans to create legitimate mashups, able to be marketed and sold as NFTs as well: a perfect fusion of the highly collaborative nature of the NFT and Space Jam cultures. Through the NFT, the Quad City DJs are hoping to inspire more creations and collaborations within the two communities.
The Quad City DJ’s are laying the foundation for continued influence in the modern age. The NFT will be listed on July 16th, the release of Space Jam 2: A New Legacy.
