RYL: “Superficial Behavior” is the title of your last album , how was its preparation?

We Fight Like Kids: The preparation of the EP came naturally, we knew we wanted to record an EP at some point but we didn’t rush it so we just gradually built our way up with the songs.

RYL: The last song you release is titled “Falconer”….What inspired its lyrics?

We Fight Like Kids: The inspiration for the lyrics came from past experiences in relationships.

RYL: Which is your favorite song of all time?

WE FIGHT LIKE Kids: For me (Gianni) my favorite is a tie between “Something In The Way” Nirvana and “Changes” by Tupac, a slight insight into my musical taste there haha.

RYL: Usually, what inspires your songs?

We Fight Like Kids: That’s a hard one to pin point, every song is inspired by something but the writing just comes naturally, it’s never forced, sometimes it just comes to you.

RYL:  Do you remember how you wrote “Ice Breakers”?

We Fight Like Kids: That one just came about really, got brought to us at a band practice and we tweeked a few bits and then it was finished.

RYL: how do you, usually, write the lyrics of your songs?

We Fight Like Kids: Usually the lyrics always come after the music for us, so we’ll just listen to a demo version of the track over and over and try to find inspiration that way for lyrics.

RYL: Which is the best verse you ever wrote?

We Fight Like Kids: For me personally I’d say the first verse for Tequila Slammer, just because it just seems to be a reoccurring thing with people in my life, which isn’t always a good thing! And it’s quite a positive message about believing in yourself.

RYL: What inspired “Tequila Slammer”?

We Fight Like Kids: For Tequila I specifically remember how the music came about, it was after I went to Leeds Festival 2013, I got inspired by the bands and the atmosphere and then I just started jamming and wrote the song and then started basing the lyrics off of things in my life at that point then our Vocalist at the time took the lyrics I wrote and added the other section.

RYL:  You will be touring very soon? tell us more about it…..

We Fight Like Kids: Yes, we’ll be coming out now with our new line-up, lots of energy and shows to come!

RYL: Which is the greatest show you ever did?

We Fight Like Kids: We played a show at The Sugarmill in Stoke and that was probably our greatest so far, such an awesome venue.
