Before Velvet Revolver creation in 2004 we never dreamt of seeing three members of Guns and Roses back in stage together and, on top of it, in a new band with Stone Temple Pilot leader Scott Weiland as a singer.

But it happened and the band released its first album “Contraband” in the same year.

Part of the band (called then SUPERBAND by many) were Slash (Guns and Roses), Duff Mc Kegan (Guns and Roses),Scott Weiland ( Stone Temple Pilots), Matt Sorum (Guns and Roses) and Dave Kushner (Wasted Youth or Jane’s Addition).

Unfortunately this dream lasted till the first months of 2008 when Weiland left the band to rejoin the Stone Temple Pilots.

Rock Your Lyrics was able to see them in one of their last live appearance when they performed in Dubai for the Desert Rock Festival ( for more videos visit our YouTube Channel)

The second single extracted from “Libertad” is a song called “The Last Fight” and has been written by Weiland as all the songs of the album.

It talks about his brother that died of overdose by drugs………one fight can be the last fight.

This song was supported by a music video that shoots Scott while he is writing the lyrics of the song in a book.
